A lovely double room on the second floor, at the back of the house, with views looking out over the gardens to the rear of the house.
The room is furnished with a double divan bed, a double built-in cupboard with plenty of hangers for two, a chest of drawers with four layers of drawers, two bedside tables with three drawers each, and a chair to relax in.
The cupboard also holds a heater and a fan, depending on what you need, as well as two lanterns - in case of a power cut at night - and additional blankets.
The bed now has six pillows - there are three pillows per person, two white ones for sleeping and a third one with a colourful cover to replace the cushions - and fleece throws, so it's nice and cosy to relax on if you want to sit back and watch TV or a film. The bedhead is covered with a bedhead slip which is washed and replaced after each stay.
The Smart TV has Freeview, with options to log into Amazon Prime and Netflix - so remember to bring your account and log-in details if you already have your own account - and a built in DVD player.
The hospitality tray offers tea, coffee - including decaf coffee - and hot chocolate, as well as white and brown sugar, Canderel, and some biscuits. UHT milk is available in your room and we also provide a small thermos flask of fresh milk each day to your room.
We have left the phone numbers of the local pubs on your hospitality tray, so you can easily book your evening meal. A small guest folder holds information about our breakfast, some housekeeping details, some local bus timetables and maps, as well as some take-away menus.
The bathroom is en-suite and has a loo, sink, shaver point and shower. The complimentary toiletries are from Pure Lakes in Staveley, and include shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body and hand lotion, restorative foot gel, a small bar of soap and hand wash. These are all provided in refillable bottles. We also provide a box of tissues, as well as a complimentary shower cap, ear plugs, cotton wool buds and cotton wool pads or balls.
Please note the photos were taken pre-lockdown.
