Bread has become increasingly important to us – real bread with nothing added. It tastes great and is better for you than bread made in the modern way. Since opening the bakery in 2015, Andy and Angela Walsh have been stocking the local eateries with their amazing bread. Fresh bread, without any additives and made with locally milled flour. Really excited to be now serving their Malted Brown Bloomer and White Farmhouse Bloomer at Maple Bank for our guests.
We source all our room smellies locally from Pure Lakes, Staveley. The fragrances have been carefully selected with all genders in mind, and are from The World Heritage range. Each room has a complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body and hand lotion, and hand soap dispenser, which are refilled for each of our guests. There is a small soap bar that is replaced per stay.
Based in the heart of the English Lake District, all of Pure Lakes' products are handmade with only the finest, high quality natural ingredients and packaged minimally using environmentally friendly packaging.

Our breakfast sausages, bacon, haggis and black pudding are provided by Caterite. Caterite was formed in 1969 but its roots go back to 1947 when Chairman Keith Graham’s father established a mobile grocery shop in the Keswick area. The wholesale business is now located 15 minutes away at Embleton, Cockermouth, and the meat is dropped off fresh to the House. The sausages and bacon are so tasty, and we offer a slice of haggis or black pudding as well with our cooked breakfast. The haggis is also very tasty with a poached egg and cooked tomatoes – simple pleasures!
