A wise man once said to me:  ‘You’ve got to feed the engine, Kate’ as we prepared ourselves for a long weekend of sailing and it’s stuck with me ever since.  Therefore, we hope we send you off each day feeling suitably ‘fuelled’ to enjoy your day, whatever it may hold for you.

We pride ourselves on our selection of local producers to create the best possible breakfast for you.

Breakfast is served between 8.00 am to 9.30 am.

Breakfast is cooked to order when you come down, so if you need to be out in the morning by a specific time then please let us know when you check in the evening before and we can see what we can set you up with, especially if it’s before 8am.

As it is just me, Kate, doing the cooking, I  ask guests to choose a time to come down to breakfast, to space out the cooking time and make sure I can focus on each of your breakfasts properly.  If there are several rooms in the same group booking then we ask you agree a time together and we seat you all together in the dining room.

I'll give you a menu when you check-in so you can choose your breakfast for the next day and this helps us manage waste.  And I leave you a new menu every day when I clean and tidy your room so you can change your order each day.  Again, this helps reduce food waste as you might want to have something different each day.

For breakfast, we offer:

  • Freshly prepared fruit salad
  • Range of yoghurts
  • Choice of cereals, including porridge
  • Freshly cooked breakfast, cooked to order.

You can add a slice of haggis or black pudding to your cooked breakfast or simply select poached eggs on toast beans, it’s your breakfast just choose what you’d like.

We have additional breakfast items for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets, which are listed on separate breakfast menus.

Please do let us know if you have any dietary requirements, allergies or food intolerances when you check in.  We cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets.  But please do phone in advance if you wish to check anything first before you book.

We were awarded the highest Food Hygiene rating in November 2018: Level 5.
