B&B Room 1 description

A lovely king-size room on the first floor, at the front of our Keswick guesthouse, with views over to Skiddaw.

The room is furnished with a king-size divan bed, a double built-in cupboard with plenty of hangers for two - with extra storage space in a separate cupboard above the hanging space - chest of drawers, two bedside tables with three drawers each, and a chair to relax in.

The cupboard also holds a heater and a fan, depending on what you need, as well as two lanterns - in case of a power cut at night - and additional blankets. There is an additional ottoman stool and a small collapsible side table.

The bed has six pillows and fleece throws, so it's nice and cosy to relax on if you want to sit back and watch TV or a film. The bedhead is covered with a bedhead slip. The pillows are of a varying thickness - so everyone has a choice of a thin, medium or thick pillow - and they are all hypoallergenic.

B&B room amenities

The Smart TV has Freeview, with options to log into Amazon Prime and Netflix - so remember to bring your account and log-in details if you already have your own account - and a built in DVD player.

The hospitality tray offers tea, coffee - including decaf coffee - and hot chocolate, as well as white and brown sugar, Canderel, and some biscuits on arrival. UHT milk is available in your room and we also provide fresh milk in the dining room fridge. Please do help yourself and decant into the small thermos flasks available on the dresser in the dining room.

We have left the phone numbers of the local pubs on your hospitality tray, so you can easily book your evening meal. A small guest folder holds information about our breakfast, some housekeeping details, some local bus timetables and maps, as well as some take-away menus.

The lovely new bathroom is en-suite and has a loo, sink, a combined light and shaver point above the sink, a walk-in shower and an electric towel-rail (timings controlled centrally). The complimentary toiletries are from Pure Lakes in Staveley, and include shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body and hand lotion, restorative foot gel and hand wash. These are all provided in refillable bottles. We also provide a box of tissues, as well as a complimentary shower cap, ear plugs, cotton wool buds and cotton wool pads or balls.
