The House
Built in 1907, the house was built as a holiday home for one of the famous Dunlop tyre family’s sons, and you can’t but help yourself and fall in love with Maple Bank, like we did. Nowadays, the grand rooms with their high ceilings, sash windows and other beautiful period features play host to a naturally welcoming house, with each bedroom dressed to be both cosy and relaxing, as well as light and airy.
We were lucky enough to take over Maple Bank in early September 2018 and have loved our new life ever since.  I came from the world of marketing in London, Edinburgh and more recently, Newcastle, whilst my mum, Ann, has moved down from Scotland, having lived in East Lothian for the last few years.  And Tara?  Maple Bank will be her sixth home and I think it’s safe to say that she is loving her new stomping ground.
All the ‘bits and bobs’ for your stay with us, and T’s and C’s for your booking

If you want to follow what is happening with Maple Bank then have a look at our blogs.  We are slowly getting to see what this part of Cumbria has to offer its visitors – and it’s certainly extensive – catering for a wide range of tastes and visitors, both indoors and outdoors.

If you would like to receive occasional updates from us, we would love to keep in touch.
